James Walker, Personal Injury Attorney In His Office

Have you ever been hurt at work in Pasadena? Honestly, it’s scary. One moment you’re working, the next moment, you’re injured. Medical bills start piling up & you’re wondering how you’re going to pay rent or even get to work again. What do you do first? Who do you call? Do you even know your rights?

Believe it or not, incidents like this occur more often than you'd imagine. Last March 2025, three employees were injured in a scaffolding accident at a Chevron facility in Pasadena. One had to be taken to the hospital & two others were transported by ambulance. Crazy, right? You don't expect that to happen at a big corporation, but it happens. And that's precisely why having the proper Industrial Accident Lawyer assistance makes all the difference.

Why You Need an Industrial Accident Lawyer

Accidents are confusing. They leave you injured, stressed, and sometimes unsure who to trust. That’s where a lawyer steps in. A local industrial accident lawyer in Pasadena knows the rules, the local courts, and even the workplaces where accidents happen most often.

Honestly, trying to handle insurance claims on your own can be a nightmare. Paperwork gets lost, deadlines get missed, and you could end up with far less than you deserve. A work injury lawyer makes sure that doesn’t happen. They guide you, step by step. They talk to insurance companies so you don’t have to. And honestly, having someone by your side can make a huge difference, you can focus on getting better instead of stressing about forms.

Common Types of Industrial Accidents in Pasadena

Accidents at work aren’t all the same. Some are minor, some are serious. And knowing the common types helps you stay aware. You might even notice hazards you didn’t think about before.

  • Slips, Trips, and Falls: Wet floors, uneven surfaces, or cluttered areas can really hurt you. Seriously, one small trip can end up in the ER.
  • Machinery Accidents: Heavy machines look harmless until they aren’t. Hands, arms, and even your whole body can get injured.
  • Falling Objects: Tools or materials dropping from heights happen more than you’d think. Even small items can do damage.
  • Chemical Exposure: Some workplaces deal with dangerous chemicals. Accidents here can hurt right away or cause problems later.
  • Electrical Accidents: Live wires or faulty equipment are nothing to joke about. Shocks and burns can be serious.

Steps to Take After an Industrial Accident

So, you’ve been hurt. Now what? You might feel lost, confused, or even scared. But don’t panic, you can take steps that make a real difference.

1. Seek Medical Attention Immediately

Even if your injury seems small, get checked out. Some injuries don’t show symptoms right away. Often, people ignore minor pains, but they can turn serious weeks later. Plus, having a medical record helps your case later.

2. Report the Accident to Your Employer

Tell your supervisor or HR as soon as possible. Write it down. Include who saw it, what happened, and when it happened - details matter. Seriously, the more you report, the better for your claim.

3. Gather Evidence

Photos, notes, and witness contacts; all of it helps. You might think, “Nah, I’ll remember,” but trust me, you forget details fast. Take pictures of the scene, any equipment, and your injuries. Jot down everything you recall.

4. Keep Records

Medical bills, prescriptions, hospital reports, emails - save them. Your work accident lawyer will thank you. Plus, it protects you if anyone tries to argue about what happened.

5. Contact a Local Industrial Accident Lawyer

This is the big one. A lawyer knows Pasadena, the courts, and the typical accidents. They help you get compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain you didn’t even think to count. Honestly, calling a lawyer early can save you headaches later.

How a Lawyer Can Help You Get Compensation

Getting money after an accident can feel impossible. Insurance companies talk fast, forms are confusing, and deadlines sneak up on you. But a local industrial accident lawyer in Pasadena can change all that.

They review your case, explain your rights in simple terms, and handle the messy paperwork. They talk to insurance companies so you don’t have to. Believe it or not, that alone takes a huge weight off your shoulders.

Lawyers also investigate. They check medical records, talk to witnesses, and gather proof. This increases your chances of getting fair compensation. And, they figure out the real value of your claim, things you might not even think about.

Workplace accidents aren’t rare. In 2023, Texas had 564 fatal work injuries, California 439, and Florida 306. Even smaller states like Vermont had 16. Seeing these numbers, you realize how serious workplace injuries can be. And that’s exactly why a lawyer matters - you need someone who knows what they’re doing, someone local.

What to Expect with a Lawyer?

Hiring lawyers for an injury doesn’t mean you’re in trouble; it means you’re getting help. They explain each step, answer your questions, and keep things moving. You don’t have to understand every detail of every law. Most lawyers will keep in touch regularly, update you on progress & even help you understand settlement offers. You know, it’s kind of like having a guide in a complex legal process.

I was in a car accident two years ago that other lawyers didn’t see a case for. They tried to say it was my fault even though these people blindly went into my lane with no blinkers. Erik Kirkpatrick took my case and was patient with explaining every step of the way in the last two years. He also made sure to give me the exact settlement amount I asked for when he was estimating. Thank you for taking my case!

My experience with this law office was very disappointing. Based on MY conversations with my attorney, Eric Kirkpatrick, I understood that I would receive a specific amount as my take-home settlement after all fees and expenses. I accepted the settlement based on that understanding. When I went to pick up my settlement check, the amount I received was significantly LESS than what I believed we had discussed. When I asked about the difference, I was told that I had never been promised a specific take-home amount. That response was completely different from what I remember being told during our conversations. I understand that attorney fees and case expenses are part of the settlement process, but I felt misled because my understanding of what I would actually receive changed after I had already agreed to settle. This experience left me feeling that communication was unclear and being told that a conversation never happened is concerning and left me very misled!! This is only MY personal experience, but because of it, I would encourage anyone considering this firm to ask for every settlement figure—including attorney fees, expenses, liens, and your expected net recovery—in writing before agreeing to settle.
