Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, Walker Texas Lawyer, as he is sometimes known, is a caring motorcycle accident lawyer in Houston, Texas. Walker Texas Lawyer aggressively fights for victims of motorcycle accidents and the compensation they deserve.
Walker Texas Lawyer has agreed to once again sponsor the Back the Badge Ride (April 14th, 2018), an annual charity event raising money for the 100 Club. The 100 Club is a 63-year-old, citizen-based organization that provides financial support to the dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty in a 31-county region surrounding Houston, Texas. Also, providing line-of-duty death benefits to Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks & Wildlife, and TABC has sworn personnel and TDCJ institutional personnel killed in the line-of-duty anywhere in the State of Texas. The 32,000+ member organization also provides life-protecting equipment for law enforcement agencies in our 18-county region and scholarships.
A group of five men ‚consisting of Leopold L. Meyer, Ray R. Elliot, R. H. Abercrombie, William A. ‚Bill Smith, and Jim ‚Silver Dollar‚ West ‚realized the need to support the dependents of Houston police officers killed in the line of duty. So they reached out and motivated 100 people to contribute $100 each toward the mission. Thus, The 100 Club was born. For nearly 50 years, the organization focused on police officers. However in 2001, The 100 Club expanded to support firefighters. As new counties have been added and new public servants added, the mission has always remained the same. And today, the organization has grown from 100 humble members to more than 30,000 strong.
The Back the Badge Ride benefits the 100 Club. It is police escorted motorcycle ride which travels from South to North of Houston. Riders meet at a designated venue for all day live music, live and silent auction, food, and an opportunity to meet up with friends and family. The Back the Badge Ride returns, Saturday, April 14, 2018. Registration begins at 8:00 am at San Jacinto Harley-Davidson and the ride rolls out promptly at 11:00 am. Participants will ride across Houston with a police escort and then gather with our first responders at an all-day party featuring live music, food, drinks, and more. The Back the Badge Ride is also part of the Thin Blue Line Motorcycle Club.
Thin Blue Line Motorcycle Club
The Thin Blue Line Motorcycle Club is comprised of active duty, retired, or reserve law enforcement officers. The members are from a variety of agencies and jurisdictions, along with civilians who support local law enforcement. Together they share the love of American made motorcycles, the wind in their faces, and brotherhood. As a fraternal organization, the Thin Blue Line strives to support one another, law enforcement professionals, and the community. Their colors identify their affiliation with law enforcement. They are bound by an oath to law enforcement “code of ethics.” Thin Blue Line members reflect a positive image for their profession and club. Walker Texas Lawyer is proud to support the 100 Club, the Back the Badge Ride, and the Thin Blue Line.
